Redskins hire Mike Shanahan…

Written by on January 6, 2010

After a one-year hiatus, Mike Shanahan is returning to the NFL as the Washington Redskins have inked a 5 year, $35 million deal with the two-time Super Bowl winning head coach.

Shanahan will also hold the title of Executive Vice President of Football Operations, as he’ll join new general manager Bruce Allen in making daily football decisions for his new team.

One of the bigger offseason decisions will be regarding quarterback Jason Campbell, who will be an upcoming free agent & just finished his 3rd straight season as starter.

Since Shanahan’s Denver Broncos won Super Bowl XXXIII over Atlanta, he has lost each of his last 4 playoff games & will try to get Washington back to the postseason for the first time since 2006.
