If the final 2 games mean anything, then Jay Cutler & his Bears could be looking forward to a more promising 2010.
Cutler’s 4 touchdown passes highlighted Chicago’s regular-season finale, as they scored 30 points in back-to-back games for the first time in over 2 years during their 37-23 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.
This game was competitive until Cutler hit Desmond Clark for a 1-yard touchdown with 7:20 left in the 3rd quarter to give the Bears a 27-20 lead.
Chicago then scored the game’s last 10 points in under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter after Cutler’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Devin Aromashodu (2nd of game) & Robbie Gould’s 34-yard field goal.
With the Bears missing the playoffs for a 3rd straight year, questions will now arise whether or not head coach Lovie Smith & offensive coordinator Ron Turner will return for the 2010 season.
Chicago has some tough upcoming decisions to make regarding several unrestricted free agents on defense, which include defensive linemen Mark Anderson & Adewale Ogunleye, linebacker Nick Roach & free safety Danieal Manning.
Due to the Jay Cutler trade, the Bears will have no draft picks available for the 2010 NFL Draft in April.
