Tim Tebow has strong performance in final game at Florida…

The NFL scouts in attendance for Friday’s Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome were blown away by Tim Tebow’s latest performance, as the senior quarterback threw for a career-high 482 passing yards with 3 touchdowns during the Florida Gators’ 51-24 rout over the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Gator fans were disappointed that Tebow wasn’t playing Texas for the National Championship, but they still had to be impressed as he set the BCS record with 533 total yards, which tops Vince Young’s 467-yard performance in that memorable 2006 Rose Bowl win over USC.
By the time Tebow directed 5 straight scoring drives on his team’s first five possessions of the game, Florida had a comfortable 37-3 lead in the 3rd quarter.
His performance was able to quiet questions regarding Urban Meyer’s future, as the 45-year old decided rather to take a leave of absence over stepping down as head coach, which will take effect immediately.
