The defending NL Champion Philadelphia Phillies replaced their ace pitcher with an even better one, as 6-time All-Star Roy Halladay will come over from the Toronto Blue Jays in part of a 4-team megadeal.
The Seattle Mariners also finished big, as they landed Cliff Lee, who will form a powerful 1-2 pitching punch with Felix Hernandez.
Toronto will receive prospects Travis D’Arnaud, Kyle Drabek & Michael Taylor while Seattle will receive Phillipe Aumont, Tyson Gillies & Juan Ramirez.
In a seperate deal, Taylor was traded to the Oakland Athletics in ecxchange for Brett Wallace.
Halladay is considered by many to be the best pitcher in baseball, as he’s led the American League in complete games in 5 of the last 9 years, while he’s led the AL in shutouts in each of the past two seasons.
