Star Player of the Game: Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, who completed 22 of 36 passes for 229 yards & 2 touchdowns.

Falcons linebacker Mike Peterson on his interception during his Atlanta debut:

“I tell the guys all the time that I’ve got the best hands on the team, but they don’t believe me. Maybe they’ll start believing me now.”

Star Player of the Game: Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who completed 10 of 18 passes for 79 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception & added a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid on McNabb’s rib injury, which was suffered during his 3-yard touchdown run:

“He’s sore right now. He’s got a broken rib. We’ll just see how he does over the next little bit.”

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Stokley on his miraculous 87-yard touchdown in the waning seconds from a tipped pass:

“You know you need a miracle, and that’s basically what we got. When I scored, I just remember it being quiet, and that was a good feeling. So much went through my head, I just thought: Get what you can. My mind was racing. What should I do? I felt myself pulling away.”

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez  on the advice he received from Joe Namath just moments before making his NFL debut:

“What a pep talk. That was Joe Namath, just taking all the credit from himself and throwing it back to me and just saying, ‘Good luck.’ To hear that from a legend like that, it just kind of gives you the chills. It was something special to be a part of, an emotional start, an emotional little pep talk.”

“It was tough. Playing from behind is never easy. Some of those balls I was throwing, I was just trying to get rid of it and not take a sack. … I’m fine. I’ve thrown three picks in a game before. Obviously, I don’t like to lose. I wish I could play better, but I’ve got to learn from it.”

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on the team’s game-winning drive, which was capped off by a 5-yard touchdown run by Darren Sproles with 18 seconds left:

“One thing I know is no team in this league can practice 2-minute situations as much as we do. It’s a little different executing it on Murphy Canyon Road as it is in Oakland. … I said: ‘Well, we’ve done this a million times, let’s go score. All we need is three.”’
