CHIACGO, IL – A 25-year-old man was shot in the back Saturday night while he was standing on a corner on the Near West Side, officials said.
At about 9:40 p.m., police responded to shots fired in the 2400 block of West Adams Street, said Chicago Police News Affairs spokesman Robert Perez.
The man was standing on the corner when a car drove by containing more than one person, and one or more people from the car opened fire, he said.
The unidentified man suffered a gunshot wound to the back, Perez said. The unknown suspects fled in a green vehicle.
A condition for the victim was not immediately available, Perez said.
