Felicia “Snoop” Pearson from The Wire to Somethin Higher
Written by DJ Special Blend from Chicago on June 20, 2009
From the jail to the TV screen is the path that Felicia Pearson took to being a recognized television actress. I would’ve sworn that she had been studying acting her entire life, but no:
Newamericamedia.org: Even more compelling than her character’s storyline is Snoop’s own life story. Born pre-maturely to drug-addicted, incarcerated parents, Snoop was raised by a Foster Grandmother. She was dealing drugs by age 12, and was imprisoned at age 14 for an eight-year bid. Snoop attained her G.E.D. and was released after serving six years. While she aspired to be a rapper, she didn’t necessarily have a major plan for her next moves.
Felicia so happened to meet the right person at the right time, and it launched her her acting career. She’s got The Wire under her belt, a book, and a movie in the works. She tells Larry King all about it on CNN:
Felicia also told SOHH.com that she’s pitching a reality show:
“I have a reality show that I’ve been pitching so that’s on the up and up. [It’s about] my day to day life, trying to get something poppin’, something generating. Reality is supposed to be real and mines will be real as they get. I ain’t doing nothing wrong or nothin’ so [the cameras] can follow me.”
