It appears as if Paul Westphal is ready to end his 8-year coaching hiatus from the NBA sidelines.
The Sacramento Kings agreed with Westphal late Tuesday on an undisclosed deal, which means that the Torrance, CA native & former USC player will get to be closer to home.
Westphal has been known to immediately turn teams around in his past.
He did it in 1993 as a rookie head coach of the Phoenix Suns, who made the NBA Finals in Westphal’s first season there.
Westphal later took the University of Pepperdine to the NCAA Tournament in his first full season there in 2001.
Westphal will try to get Sacramento back in the playoffs for the first time since 2006, when they finished as the Western Conference’s eighth seed & lost in 6 games to San Antonio in the first round.
