Fresh up off of a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with Hepatitis C, Natalie Cole announces her return to the stage this fall:

People.com: Just weeks after a successful kidney transplant, Natalie Cole has announced her performance comeback. The 59-year-old Grammy-winning singer says she will return to the stage on Sept. 9, appearing at the Hollywood Bowl.

Miss Cole went through successful kidney surgery on the same exact day that her older sister died from lung cancer.

“My family and I want to express our extreme appreciation for the outpouring of kindness we have received from all over the country,” Miss Cole said in a statement Tuesday. “In the midst of sorrow I am still able to celebrate my new lease on life. There is always a silver lining. I thank God for this golden kidney and I look forward to going back to work in the fall. I will see you in the music.

We wish Miss Cole the best.  The remake of the jam “Unforgetable” she did as a duet with her father Nat King Cole is an all time classic song, for obvious reasons.  Condolences go out to her family for her sister.
