Instant NCAA Classic! Texas tops Boston College in 25 innings

It took 7 hours & 3 minutes to complete, but it will go down as one of the most memorable college baseball games in NCAA History.
Texas was finally able to beat Boston College 3-2 in 25 innings early Sunday morning from Austin, as it eclipsed an 23-inning affair from Louisiana-Lafayette’s 6-5 win over McNeese State in 1971.
Texas reliever Austin Wood was the hero, as he pitched an incredible 12 1/3 innings of no-hit ball before allowing a 19th inning single to Boston College’s Tony Sanchez.
Wood also struck out 14 while amassing an incredible total of 169 pitches.
Texas will now move on to play the winner of the Boston College/Army game on Sunday in the regional finals.
