Countless defensive gems at 3rd base, a 2005 World Series ring & a 2008 All-Star selection.
New Minnesota Twins’ 3rd baseman Joe Crede is back in town tonight, as he returns to a city that adored him as a fan favorite throughout his 9 years with the Chicago White Sox.
Crede struggled in his final 2 seasons with the Sox, as he failed to hit above .250 & missed a combined 180 games due to injury in that same timeframe.
Crede also committed a career-high 20 errors at 3rd base last season, which prompted the Sox to promote Josh Fields to their full-time 3rd baseman.
Crede is currently in a 1-year deal with Minnesota, where he figures to be their everyday starter at 3rd base.
Joe Crede’s best season with the White Sox was in 2006, when he totaled career-highs in at-bats (544), runs scored (76), hits (154), home runs (30), runs batted in (94) & batting average (.283).
Crede is 1-for-5 lifetime with a home run against tonight’s starter, Jose Contreras & 3-for-9 lifetime against Saturday’s starter, Bartolo Colon.
