Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was suspended today for the first 3 games for the 2009 NFL season after violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Lynch’s suspension comes after his guilty plea last month to a misdemeanor gun charge in Los Angeles. (Lynch is a native of Oakland, CA)
In addition to this, Lynch was also involved in a hit-and-run accident last May in Buffalo, but was not suspended for his actions.
Marshawn Lynch will enter his 3rd NFL season this fall with the Bills. Lynch improved on his receiving last season (career-high 47 receptions for 300 yards), but received 30 fewer carries & averaged just 69.1 yards per game. (Lynch averaged 85.8 yards per game during his rookie season)
Backup Fred Jackson will start for Lynch in the 3 games that he will miss to start the 2009 season.
