CHICAGO – Cameron Karsna was pronounced dead at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital at 12:56 pm after his motorcycle was hit by a Ford Truck.

A 31-year-old Northwest Side man died today in a crash a half-mile from his house when a pickup truck turned in front of his motorcycle, authorities said.

Cameron Karshna, 31, of the 7300 block of North Oconto Avenue, was driving his motorcycle east on Touhy Avenue when the driver of a 2002 Ford pickup that had been headed west tried to turn left onto Oleander Avenue, authorities said.

The pickup hit Karshna’s motorcycle in the 7500 block of West Touhy, injuring him, said Chicago Police Officer John Mirabelli.

Karshna was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and pronounced dead at 12:56 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The 36-year-old Chicago man who was driving the pickup was cited with failure to yield the right of way, and failure to wear a seatbelt, Mirabelli said. His name was not being released because of the minor nature of the citations, Mirabelli said.
