Bears re-sign running back Kevin Jones to 2-year deal..

After Chicago Bears’ running back Matt Forte ranked 4th in rush attempts & 1st in receptions during his impressive rookie campaign, the team has decided to keep his backup around.
Running back Kevin Jones agreed to a $3.5 million, 2 year deal with the Bears on Friday after finishing the worst season of his 5-year career.
Jones rushed just 34 times all of last season for 109 yards (9.9 yards per game), as he took a backseat to the rookie Forte.
Jones will get to reunite with Rod Marinelli, who is the Bears’ new defensive line coach & assistant head coach to Lovie Smith.
The twosome spent 2 seasons together in Detroit as the Lions won 10 games & lost 22.
It is unsure if Jones will receive a bigger load offensively for the Bears, as he has not rushed for 1,000 yards or more since his rookie season in 2004 with the Detroit Lions.
At this time, i’d like to offer condolences to the family of former Chicago Bear & Hall of Famer George McAfee, who passed away on Wednesday.
McAfee spent 8 seasons with the Bears & was part of their championship-winning teams in 1940, 1941 & 1946.
