After being touted as preseason title contenders, the Houston Rockets’ season has just taken a huge blow.
Earlier today, Houston found out that guard/forward Tracy McGrady will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury that has been bothering him since Opening Day.
Rockets’ head coach Rick Adelman even ripped McGrady for “failing to inform the team” of his season-ending injury.
McGrady’s scoring average has dipped in 6 of his last 7 seasons since averaging a career-high 32.1 points per game during 2002-03 for the Orlando Magic.
This season, McGrady averaged just 15.6 points per game for the Rockets, which is his lowest scoring average since 1999-2000. (Averaged 15.4 points per game as a member of the Toronto Raptors)
The Sporting News is reporting tonight that McGrady is being mentioned in trade talks with the Los Angeles Clippers, as the Rockets would receive 2-time All-Star guard Baron Davis in return.
