Over 20 years after starring in the baseball classic Field of Dreams, Kevin Costner is going to bring the suburban city of Zion, IL a minor-league baseball team in the summer of 2010.
The new stadium is going to be just minutes away from Six Flags Great America & Gurnee Mills, which are already two huge attractions that bring in tons of money on a year-round basis.
Costner’s new team will be owned by Grand Slam Sports & Entertainment of Deerfield, IL which will be responsible for hiring employees for the 300-plus jobs that will be available.
I might even have to check out this new stadium once its’ been completed! According to an “inside source”, the Schaumburg Flyers will be an opponent of Costner’s yet-to-be-named minor league franchise.
