Andre 3000 Having Trouble with his Clothing Line
Written by DJ Special Blend from Chicago on January 26, 2009
The economy has no mercy for anyone nowadays.
Andre 3000 launched his clothing line Benjamin Bixby in September of ’08, but the company is already being sold off.
Not due to the high-ass prices of the pink scarfs, yellow sweaters, orange stars, green clovers, blue diamonds and purple horseshoes and shit, but because of the economy.
The collection, which contains 70 pieces, ranging from wide-brimmed fedora hats to pink sweatshirts, is now reportedly being sold off at vast discount in a bid to shift stock and boost profits.
Despite the setback, the Benjamin Bixby range has been nominated for GQ magazine’s Best New Menswear Designers Award, in which the winner will land a $50,000 cash prize and the chance to design a collection for jeans manufacturer Levi per HipHopGalaxy.
Good luck Dre. Hope you get to shake those Levi’s “like a Polaroid picture!”
I wonder if he had to pay the Bixby family anything for that name. Prolly not.
