Movie Premier: “Notorious” in New York City

Written by on January 9, 2009

Jay Z, Diddy, Spike Lee, Faith Evans and Angela Basette are only a few of the stars that attended the premier of “Notorious.”

This film is based on the life story of Christopher Wallace A.K.A. The Notorious B.I.G.  You know that unless you have been sleeping in a cave with no TV, Radio or Internet for the last month or so.

MTV describes the film premier after party as festive, as the one’s and two’s were rocked all night by Cassidy and D-Nice.

“Y’all here to party for Biggie?” Big’s wife, Faith Evans asked the crowd unexpectedly, asking the DJ to cut the music so she could speak.

“Say ‘Yeah!” she continued. “I see D-Dot in here. Shout-outs to the Bad Boy family. But where’s Brooklyn at?”

The after-after party kicked off at 3am, with DJ D-Nice holdin’ down the tables again at NYC hot spot Mr. West.

Mimi Valdes was in attendance.  She is the former Chief Editor of Vibe Magazine who did the magazine’s first cover story on B.I.G.

“It’s like 1995 all over again tonight,” she said after earlier tearing up during the movie.

Lil’ Kim is reportedly upset with the way she was portrayed in the Notorious movie per Hip-Hop Weekly, and she ain’t feelin’ Faith:
    “I’m very disappointed in Faith.”
    Faith told MTV:
“I try my best not to think about it — it’s kinda sad,” she said. “This is not my movie. I didn’t write the script. Any characters in the film had to agree for their life rights to be in the movie. I don’t think I would have signed anything had I felt I was not portrayed properly. I think she had the opportunity to do that. I could be mistaken. I wasn’t there.”
